The Persian Gulf and its shores have huge oil and gas resources. In recent years, the extraction and export of these sources of pollution have inflicted on the Persian Gulf. Therefore, in order to monitor the Persian Gulf and its creatures systematically, and to evaluate pollution sources, pollution and quantitative assessment of that research group, the environment has been opened.
Mission Group Research
- Regular monitoring of the Persian Gulf and its coasts in terms of the type of environmental pollutant and its origin and quantity.
- Prospective management planning for environmental protection.
- Provide a solution to eliminate or reduce contamination.
Goals
- Identification and identification of pollution sources in water and soil.
- Biological and chemical removal of pollutants from the environment.
- Synthesis of bio-materials using waste materials and their application in the environment.
- Use of Nanotechnology to control environmental pollutants.
- Monitoring and modeling the migration of pollutants in water.
- Determination of pollution in industrial areas.
- Investigating the effects of pollutants on aquatic organisms.
- The qualitative classification of waters (river, lake and dam) based on biological indices.
- Evaluating the long-term ecological effects of pollutants.
- Control of the emission of environmental pollutants in order to achieve existing standards.
- Measurement of heavy metals in water and sediment, and plants and sea plants.
- Evaluation of the effects of pollutants on the food chain in different ecosystems.
- Biodegradation of various pollutants using biological indicators (phyto and zooplankton, necton and benthos.
- Providing consultancy services in the field of water, soil, air, marine environment, methods for dealing with pollution in the sea, and developing standard guidelines and methods for determining the amount of pollutants.
